For patients with unresectable Stage IV disease,
referral directly to Dr.
Grosh is generally the most efficient. For patients with melanomas
thicker than 1 mm or with advanced resectable disease, Dr. Slingluff
will be happy to see them. Where that disease may be confined to the head
and neck, referral through Dr. Paul
Levine in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery is
appropriate. For patients with thin melanomas up to 1 mm in thickness
without any clinical evidence of metastatic disease, Dr. Slingluff will be
happy to see them but Dr. John
Hendrix in Dermatology
Surgery is also expert in handling issues related to melanoma
treatment and follow up and can perform the appropriate wide excisions for
those thin melanomas effectively and expeditiously. Where consultation
about the diagnosis is all that is requested, referral directly to Dr. Jim
Patterson, our Dermatopathologist, will be responded to by prompt
review.
If you have any questions please feel free to give any of the above
mentioned doctors a call. |
