The CORAL Trial is a study of persons who have high blood pressure and narrowing of one or more of the blood vessels that supply the kidneys, called renal artery stenosis. The study is designed to see whether using a stent to help open the narrowed blood vessel(s) will improve patient's health as compared to careful treatment of high blood pressure and other cardiovascular risk factors (such as high cholesterol, smoking, and diabetes) without stenting. Adult patients with renal artery stenosis may be eligible to participate. Patients will be seen in clinic for up to five years for follow up, and will be compensated for certain travel expenses.

For questions, please contact one of the study nurse coordinators through the Surgical Therapeutic Advancement Center at 434-243-0315.
