Research Description

Dr. Dillingham is currently funded by a K23 award for her work on enteric infections in individuals affected by HIV in Haiti. Her perspective as a recent graduate of the program make her an effective adviser to trainees about best steps for successful evolution from fellow to faculty. Her substantial and ongoing field experience in Haiti and South Africa and her engagement in the development of global health curriculum for trainees at all levels makes her an important asset to those trainees who wish to pursue opportunities in global health research. Her activities in clinical HIV research at the University of Virginia’s Ryan White Clinic also provide important domestic opportunities for trainees to participate in ongoing research and to design their own projects.
