Division Services

The Division of Thoracoabdominal Imaging comprises two separate but overlapping sections, namely the section of Chest Radiology and the section of Abdomen-Pelvic Imaging. The staff of the division includes 13 full-time faculty physicians and three fellows. The Chest Radiology Section is responsible for all radiologic procedures related to the chest including plain radiography, computed tomography, fine needle aspiration biopsies and drainage procedures. This section is also responsible for daily clinical x-ray rounds for a total of six different medical and surgical units.


The section of Abdomen-Pelvic Imaging is responsible for the entire range of imaging, biopsy and nonvascular interventional procedures performed below the diaphragm. The range of procedures performed is wide and diverse and encompasses such procedures as abdominal and retroperitoneal biopsies and drainages, dilatation of enteric strictures, 3D reconstruction of spiral CT data and Transvaginal ultrasound-guided biopsies and drainages.
