TeleradiologyThe University of Virginia's Department of Radiology provides round-the-clock coverage to many sites via teleradiology. The fast and accurate turnaround we provide assists physicians in providing rapid treatment to critically ill and injured patients, which otherwise might not be possible. Through the use of our advanced teleradiology system, UVa's radiologists provide seamless coverage. Images are digitally transmitted via phone lines from the sending site to UVa for interpretations by our board-certified radiologists, including sub-specialists. Patients' reports are transmitted back to the referring site within hours. We are also available to provide interpretations on other types of films where electronic transfer is not necessary. We currently have 24 contracts to read studies from doctors offices that have the ability to take x-rays, but that don't necessarily have a Radiologist to read them. Additionally, if you have the ability to take MRI or other modality films, our expert Radiologist are available M-F to read your studies and affordable rates.
