Direct Studies Transfer Project to PACS

A protocol has been established by the Department of Radiology for the transfer of images from outside facilities to be uploaded for viewing on UVa PACS. Clinicians need to instruct the outside facility with the desired study to send it to UVa PACS. The studies are transferred directly via T1 connection to the IEP server, and sent to the PACS Referral folder from which they will be made available for viewing.

In addition trauma films may be requested by the ED admitting physician/ team to be similarly sent in an expedited manner and viewed in the Emergency Department.

To aid in the use of this system we have placed the complete protocol information along with our "Request to Load Images to UVa PACS" in the lower right corner of our Study Procedure Request Forms Page.
