Charlottesville Women’s Four Miler Race Raises Record Amount in Support of UVa Cancer Center Breast Care Program

The UVa Breast Care Team wishes to express sincere appreciation to all Uva Health System employees who helped contribute to this year’s success.

On Saturday, September 2, 2005, many of our UVa Health System employees took part in the largest womens’ race in Virginia: the Charlottesville Women’s Four Miler.  Some employees were runners and others were volunteers.  The event, hosted by Charlottesville Track Club and directed by Cynthia Lorenzoni, owner of Ragged Mountain Running Shop, had 2,100 participants this year and raised over $100,000 for the UVa Cancer Center Breast Care Program .  All of the funds raised will be used locally for patient education and support services as well as community outreach efforts.
