The radiology residency training program aims to develop within the resident the skills and interpretive ability necessary to perform as a competent clinical diagnostic radiologist and to encourage critical thinking and creativity as a basis for sound clinical practice training. At the completion of training, the resident should be able to perform and interpret all of the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and be acquainted with those unusual procedures that are investigational in nature. In addition, the resident should show the ability to serve as a consultant to guide in the appropriate selection of diagnostic exams. These goals should be accomplished with collegiality and sensitivity for the physical and psychological well being of the patients, residents and faculty.
