Division Services The Division of Angiography, Interventional Radiology, and Special Procedures includes diagnostic angiography, CT and MR angiography, carbon dioxide angiography, pulmonary angiography, venography, and lymphography. Interventional procedures include percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, atherectomy, vascular stents, percutaneous gastrostomy, nephrostomy and stent placement, cryoplasty, cutting balloon angioplasty, subintimal recanalizations, stent grafts for aneurysmal disease, venous ablation for varicose veins, biliary drainage and stent placement, vena cava filters, tracheobronchial stents, venous access, thrombolytic therapy for DVT, PE and clotted grafts, retrieval of intravascular foreign bodies, transjugular liver biopsies, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts (TIPS), and venous sampling for endrocrine tumors. Percutaneous embolization is available for palliation of tumors and vascular malformations, control of hemorrhage, or as a substitute for surgical removal of certain organs such as uterine fibroids. Radiofrequency ablation of tumors, chemoembolization, and radioisotope therapy for metastatic liver disease are also offered. |
