Angio/Interventional Fellowship
All positions for 2010 have been filled. All dates for the match can be located at www.nrmp.org (Application and list of hotels at the end of this document) The University of Virginia offers five ACGME-accredited fellowship positions in Interventional Radiology, Angiography and Special Procedures. The division performs approximately 13,000 procedures on 5200 patient visits per year. We have six dedicated peripheral angiography suites. Training is provided in diagnostic angiography, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, atherectomy, vascular stents, percutaneous genitourinary procedures, biliary procedures, IVC filters, thrombolysis, venous access, embolotherapy, TIPS, venous ablation, radiofrequency ablation, aortic stent graphs, etc. We also have our own admitting and consultation service and outpatient clinic. Fellows also obtain training in MRA, CTA, and cardiac imaging. One of the five fellowship positions can be a two-year position where the second year will provide an opportunity to be mentored in interventional radiology research. Full research facilities are available including two research MRI's and a research interventional suite.
