Windows 98
- Open 'Control Panel'
- Double-click 'Modems'
- Click on 'Dialing Properties'
- Click on 'Calling Card' tab
- Select one of the 800 MCI calling card numbers
- Click on 'Properties'
- From the drop down menus, select
- Calling card number
- Wait 8 sec
- Calling card PIN
- Wait 8 sec
- Dial '0'
- Dial area code + phone number
- When dialing an Internet connection, make sure the 'Location' field is set for long distance. If it is not available, click on 'Properties', 'Options' tab, then check the 'Prompt for number' box.
Windows 2000/XP
- Open 'Control Panel'
- Double-click 'Phone and Modem Options'
- Click on 'New'
- Enter an outside area code, ie 804
- Click on 'Calling Card'
- Select one of the 800 MCI calling card numbers
- Enter the last 4 digits of your calling card for the PIN and the rest as the account number then click 'Apply'
- Click on 'Edit'
- Click on the 'Long Distance' tab
- Click on each of the steps in the 'Calling card dialing steps:' box then click delete
- Click on 'Access Number'
- Click on 'Wait for Prompt' and enter 8 sec
- Click on 'Account Number'
- Click on 'PIN'
- Click on 'Wait for Prompt' and enter 8 sec
- Click on 'Specify Digits' and enter '0'
- Click on 'Destination Number'
- Click on 'Ok' until you're out
- When dialing an Internet connection, make sure the 'Location' field is set for long distance. If it is not available, click on 'Properties', 'Options' tab, then check the 'Prompt for number' box.
