Number of Carotid Endarterectomy (CEA) Procedures Performed
In 2001, the Leapfrog Group suggested that a surgical program that performs at least 100 carotid endarterectomy (CEA) procedures per year has better outcomes. (Surgery, September 2001: 130; 415-422) In 2003, the Leapfrog Group revised its procedure threshold levels for several procedures and removed CEA from its list.
