COMBINED MEDICINE AND PSYCHIATRY PROGRAM

What are the requirements for this program?

The University of Virginia combined Internal Medicine/Psychiatry Program is a challenging 5 year training.  The review committee looks for USMLE scores in the mid-80s and above, a graduation date that is no more than 5 years past, honors grades in psychiatry and internal medicine clerkships and excellent letters of reference.  Applicants should be able to demonstrate and interest in both internal medicine and psychiatry.

 Do you accept IMGs?

International Medical Graduates should have extensive clinical experience in the US with references from these experiences.

 Can I transfer into the Med/Psych program?

Transfers can only be accepted from individuals already in an acredited med/psych combined program, or those who are in internal medicine at an institution that offers an accredited med/psych program.
