Awards and Honors

Dr. Sherief El-Mallah is a recipient of one of the 2004 American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Resident Travel Grants.  This competitive award will help to defray the cost of attending the 51st  Annual  AACAP Meeting in Washington, DC in October, and is intended to introduce future leaders in the field to the AACAP.

Congratulations to Dr.s Bruce Lovelace (PGY II) and Veronica Harsh (PGY III, Med/Psych).  They won two of the ten hospital-wide teaching awards for residents and fellows for the 2003-2004 academic year.  The nominees for these awards are selected by medical students and the departments.

Dr. Catalina Melo (PGY III resident) was selected as a Resident Monitor for the APA's 2004 Annual Meeting in New York.

Dr. Vamik Volkan is the 2004 recipient of the "Best Teacher" Award from The American College of Psychoanalysts.  In addition, he received the international Sigmund Freud Award in Vienna on April 20, 2004.
