Race Start

The Charlottesville Men’s Four Miler Training Program and Fun Run

Over 280 men participated in The 2007 Charlottesville Men's Four Miler, held on 12/1/2007 in Free Union.

 Race Results

The Charlottesville Men's Four Miler is an all male race sponsored by the UVa department of Urology.  The purpose of the race is threefold:

1) To increase awareness of prostate cancer, it's dangers and the treatment options available at UVa.  This includes the robotic surgery program.

2)To improve the fitness of men in our community.  Inactivity has been tied to prostate cancer and other health problems.  Click here for the testimony of one of the 2004 training program participants.

3)To raise money to support prostate cancer programs in our community.

 Training Program

A Training program is held starting two months before the race.  The group meets on Saturday mornings at the UVA track. Personalized programs are available for runners of all skill level.  You do not have to be a runner to participate.  Additional information about the training program will be posted in early fall 2008.
