The UVAHS Professional Nursing Staff Organization Professional Development Committee |
The Professional Development Committee promotes continued growth and excellence of nursing knowledge within the professional nursing staff of UVAHS in a variety of ways, including:
- Reviewing and revising New-Nurse Orientation and Skills Checklist content;
- Sponsoring semiannual Leadership Forums;
- Co-sponsoring events recognizing excellence in nursing, including annual Nursing Excellence Awards and the Week of the Nurse; and
- Facilitating scholarship opportunities for nursing-related continued education and professional growth activities, such as Nursing Grand Rounds and the Nurses' Professional Development Fund.
The Professional Development Committee sponsors several key subcommittees and initiatives:
- The Clinical Career Ladder
- The Nurse Educational Coordinators (NEC's);
- The Nurse Recognition Committee, and Week of the Nurse planning workgroup.
