Residency Application Requirements The University of Virginia Health System is a participating member of the National Resident Matching Program. All applicants for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency appointments must register with the NRMP to participate in the Match. Foreign Medical Graduates should register either via their school (if applicable) or via the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). All applications to our program must be submitted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The Program does not accept hard copy applications via regular mail or fax nor electronic copies via email. The deadline for accepting applications is November 15th. Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program Positions: Our department has two programs available to MD and DO candidates. One is the Categorical Program and the other is the Advanced Program. It is possible to apply to either or both programs:

Interview Process: Each application is reviewed by the Residency Committee prior to extending an invitation to interview. A formal interview is required to be considered for the program. In order for your application to be reviewed we require, at minimum -
The committee will not review incomplete applications or applications submitted beyond the deadline of November 15th. Upon review of complete applications the program will notify the applicant either via email or by letter of their decision. Please be sure when completing your CAF that your email and mailing addresses are current.
