PM&R Resident Rotation Descriptions
PM&R Program Outpatient Orthopaedic Rotation – UVA Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Musculoskeletal Center, Fontaine Research Park
In this rotation PM&R residents have the opportunity to evaluate and treat patients in busy outpatient orthopaedic clinics.
Goals and Objectives:
- Perform a history and physical examination on patients with injuries to the hand, spine, and extremities.
- Understand appropriate radiographic and laboratory studies that are helpful for diagnosing various orthopaedic injuries.
- Become familiar with the prescription of detailed rehabilitation programs for common orthopaedic injuries and disease processes.
- Develope the ability to work as a member of the orthopaedic team.
