Educational CoursesSurgical TechniquesThis educational program was developed for medical students, residents and board-certified physicians and is available at no cost to medical schools, residencies, and continuing education programs for graduate physicians. The teaching materials include a manual, "Scientific Basis of Wound Closure Techniques" and a training video. The program has been approved for continuing medical education credits by the Dannemiller Memorial Foundation. Wound Prevention and RepairThe Departments of Plastic Surgery and Biomedical Engineering have teamed up to offer BIOM 892, a new graduate-level, multidisciplinary course entitled "Engineering of Wound Prevention and Repair: Biology, Technology, and Clinical Applications." The course was introduced in Spring 1998 and was taught by Drs. Rodeheaver, Gampper and Ratliff of Plastic Surgery, and Dr. Skalak of Biomedical Engineering. The first class consisted of students in biomedical engineering, sports medicine, physical therapy and nursing. |
