The results from our wound healing laboratory involving wound closure and wound care management have become internationally recognized for their value in patient care. One of the greatest recognitions our laboratory has received was the invitation to participate in the government's guideline-development panel for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. Dr. Rodeheaver worked on this panel for 3 years to develop these guidelines. The result is several clinical practice guidelines, written for both the patient and the health professionals, printed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Agency for Health Care Policy and Research.
