Consultation and Referral

Consultation with the attending in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is available 24 hours a day. We may be reached by:

    • calling the PICU (434) 924-1761
    • paging the PICU attending on call (434) 924-0211
    • via the Medical Information and Referral Service (800) 251-3627

Emergency patient referral via fixed wing, helicopter, or ground transport with care by pediatric transport specialists can be arranged promptly by contacting the attending or fellow on call in the PICU at the above numbers.
