- Critical Care Fundamentals Curriculum includes weekly didactic sessions with all the division faculty and fellows to review and discuss topics in the fundamentals of physiology and pathophysiology of critical care medicine and in pediatric cardiac critical care with the following goals:
- To build a solid foundation for the clinical practice of critical care that complements the fellows' experiential learning in the PICU and
- To nurture the growth of fellows as future academic clinicians, investigators and educators

- Pediatric Critical Care Division Conferences, rotate among:
- Journal Club
- Research in Progress
- Morbidity & Mortality Conferences
- Division Business Meetings
- Fellow's Case of the Month, in which one of the fellows leads an evidence-based discussion of a controversial therapeutic or diagnostic decision required in the face of uncertainty.
- The Resident Core Lecture Series covers basic issues in Pediatric Critical Care and is geared to housestaff rotating through the PICU. 2nd and 3rd year fellows are expected to develop several talks for this series as they advance in proficiency in education.
