When to Refer
Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Without Heart-Lung Bypass
A coronary artery bypass graft without the use of a heart-lung bypass machine can be considered for patients:
- With severe aortic calcification
- With poorly functioning kidneys
- With poorly functioning hearts
- Taking the blood thinner Clopidogrel
Surgical AF Ablation
Those most likely to benefit from a surgical atrial fibrillation ablation include patients who:
- Have failed a catheter ablation
- Have large atriums
- Need another cardiac or thoracic surgical procedure with their ablation
- Are unable to tolerate Warfarin
Epicardial VT Ablation
The primary beneficiaries of epicardial VT ablations include patients with refractory VT:
- Who failed drug therapy
- Who failed an endocardial ablation
