New PhD training program in Biomedical Informatics funded by the NLM
The Department of Public Health Sciences and the Department Systems and Information Engineering in the School of Engineering have received 5 years of funding for a new collaborative doctoral training program in Medical Informatics. The medical portion of the program is lead by James Harrison, MD, PhD, in the Division of Clinical Informatics in PHS and includes faculty from a number of School of Medicine departments. The engineering portion is lead by Stephanie Guerlain, PhD, of Systems and Information Engineering. The program is one of only two new NLM training programs in biomedical Informatics funded in this 5-year cycle. More information is available at
