We all have heard about the possibility of a major pandemic of the H1N1 virus in the United States this year and that it could most severely affect younger individuals especially college students.

What's the latest news about the flu?  How does a local health department-one located in a large university community- take all the recommendations and advice on preparing for a possible flu epidemic and design their own battle plan ?

Please come and hear Dr. Lilian Peake Health Director, Thomas Jefferson Health District, and Ruth Gaare Bernheim, Division Director of Public Health Policy and Practice and the UVA's Masters of Public Health Program, discuss how the Department of Public Health Sciences is teaming with the local health department and the state on this complex and dynamic challenge to form a comprehensive battle plan.
