MPH Students Attend Community Health Resource Lab at the 2007 University of Virginia Symposium on Race and Society
MPH students recently attended the Community Health Resource Lab at the 2007 University of Virginia Symposium on Race and Society, "Racial Implications of America's Health Care Crisis." The Master of Public Health Program was co-sponsor of this event.
The symposium offered an in-depth investigation into the complex forces that generate health disparities in America. Primary themes included Social Justice; Social Determinants of Health; Marginalized Populations; Research and Intervention.
The goal of the conference was to begin a thoughtful evidence-based discussion into how the benefits of the American health care system are shared unequally and how we can take action for greater health equity.
