Program Description

The Masters of Public Health at the University of Virginia is an interdisciplinary program that requires students to complete 42 credit hours of course work: at least 24 credit hours of core courses, 12 credit hours in a track or concentration, and the remaining credit hours from a combination of electives, a field placement, and a culminating experience (independent research project). Each student accepted into the MPH program will identify a concentration and develop an individualized course of study with an advisor (and approved by an MPH faculty committee) that addresses the student's professional interests, needs, and goals.
