Statistical Bioinformatics Group

We are conducting statistical and computational investigations on genomic data in order to discover and understand genetic factors that determine phenotypes and prognosis in various human diseases.

Our goal is to analyze multiple genes, their RNA/protein expressions, and their interactive roles in human biology. Our analysis approaches are based on rigorous statistical and computational methods. We try to use the most realistic statistical and/or computational models that will capture biological phenomena best, rather than merely using mathematically convenient models.

For the coming genome era, the most valuable scientific observations in human biology and medicine can be obtained only by close collaboration between biological and statistical scientists. Therefore, we are always seeking productive collaborations on various genomic studies in medicine.
