PARTICIPATE IN OUR RESEARCH |
|
The faculty and staff of the Division of Perceptual Studies at the University of Virginia have been conducting research for many years on a variety of unusual experiences. In this study, we hope to learn about more such experiences, including the characteristics of people who have them and the circumstances in which they have them. We have developed a series of questionnaires for this research, including some personality questionnaires. Whether or not you have had any experiences, we would appreciate your participation in this study. If we are to learn about who has experiences and who does not, it is just as important to have participants who have never had an experience along with those who have. Because there are several questionnaires, we have set them up so that you may complete them at your leisure, starting and stopping as you need to. In order to re-enter the survey to change or complete your answers, you will need to save the e-mail we will send to you giving the web address for the survey. If you have any questions about this study, please contact: Emily Williams Kelly, Ph.D. The Department of Psychiatric Medicine Division of Perceptual Studies P. O. If you have experienced something unusual, please provide us with a brief summary of your experience(s) and we will e-mail you an invitation including a link that will enable you to participate in the University of Virginia Study of Unusual Experiences . Remember, we need subjects who have not experienced anything unusual as well as those who have had unusual experiences. If you simply want to report an experience of the type we investigate without becoming involved in the study described above then please click here. (Please note, we are collecting cases for the purposes of research only. We cannot provide therapeutic or counseling services via email, telephone, or correspondence to individuals who are made anxious by unusual experiences.)
