Your Day of Surgery
Welcome to the University of Virginia Health Sciences Medical Center. Upon arrival you should report to the Patient and Family Waiting Lounge. When entering the main hospital lobby, stop at the information desk and you will be shown to the Visitor's Lounge. Your arrival time is estimated to be approximately two hours prior to your actual surgery. Please check in with the receptionist who will provide you and your family with additional instructions and information for your surgery.Please be aware of the space limitations within our waiting lounge. We ask each patient to limit themselves to two visitors while waiting for surgery.
