Housing for Pediatrics Away Rotations

Dorm housing is provided for you at Roanoke: As you drive past the hospital on the right, the dorm entrance is off the 3rd right driveway that leads into the hospital complex.  THE SPACES YOU MAY USE ARE THOSE FEW ON THE RIGHT PAST THE GATE AND BETWEEN THE WHITE VERTICAL TANK AND THE HANDRAIL.  IF THOSE SPACES ARE FULL, YOU MAY PARK IN THE 'NO PARKING' SPACE.  You must arrange with security (981-7911) in advance to enter the gate.  They can tell you if there are any available parking spaces, will need a description of your car, and will remotely raise the gate.  If the NO PARKING space is full, you must return at another time or parallel park against the far wall and use the side entrance of the Fickler Building and walk through it to the dorm.

Whichever place you park, you may park no longer than 15 minutes and must leave your flashers on.

  • Fairfax INOVA Hospital

The hospital owns a townhouse near the hospital that can sleep up to 5 students. It is available to all students doing their pediatric clerkship here at IFHC.  While the M-3 students are prioritized, visiting AI's will be allowed to stay there if there is adequate space.  Therefore you must inform Ms. Meyer at least 2 months in advance if you plan to use the townhouse.

The townhouse has just been renovated and now includes a TV and internet access.  Furnishings are minimal.  You are advised to bring your own linens; there is a washer/dryer present in the house.   Out of respect for the rights of your colleagues to privacy and quiet, entertainment of guests is not permitted
