Farifax INOVA Hospital
Students scheduled for the Pediatric Clerkship at Fairfax Hospital for Children work with Dr. Alicia Freedy & the staff. On the 1st day of each period, you will report to the Peds Chairman's Office in back of the gift shop at the Women & Children's Center Lobby of the Fairfax Hospital. To check-in, you may park in the "Employee Parking Garage" that is located at the end of the "Blue Entrance" drive on the right. Please arrive by 12:30 PM (Group A) or 10:00 AM (Group B). "Group A" students are those who are spending the first 4 weeks of the clerkship block at Fairfax. An information packet, apartment keys (which must be turned in before grades will be given), parking pass, and Chief Resident's orientation will be provided on the 1st day of the rotation. You will need to provide and launder your own sheets (twin), towels, pillows/pillow cases, blanket or comforter and personal items. Fairfax can provide "on call" meals, and a "bagel breakfast" is usually available at the morning conference. Otherwise you are responsible for your own meals. University of Virginia medical students are given priority for housing. However, depending on space, there might be a 4th year staying in the dorms as well. To ease concerns of safety and privacy, there are locks on bedroom doors. Entertainment of guests is not permitted. Refer to the specific information which will be distributed to students assigned to Fairfax. If you have questions, contact Paula Graham , Peds Coordinator at (703) 776-6041.
