CLIPP Cases: You will have all day on Monday to work on your required CLIPP cases.
GASTROENTEROLOGY CLINIC: Meets on Monday afternoon at 1PM, all day Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Primary Care Center 4th floor. Dr. Sutphen, Dr. Barnes & Borowitz administer this clinic.
PRIMARY CARE GENERAL PEDIATRIC CLINIC: Students will work in the 4th floor of Primary Care Center all day Wednesdays. Go to the front desk on the 4th floor at 8:30 AM and ask for Rhoda Miller, RN for orientation
THE PEDS PULMONARY CLINIC: Held on Friday morning at 8 AM on the 4th floor, Primary Care Center . Clinic staff consists of an attending, a Nurse Clinician, the Pulmonary Function Lab Tech and any residents and/or students on the elective. The attending or nurse clinician can review the patients with you to identify new patients and discuss the diagnoses of returning patients to help provide for an exposure to a broad range of pulmonary diagnoses. You are required to read the readings listed in your Pediatric handout. There is also a notebook of readings to be used during clinic as time allows. You will be acquainted with office spirometry by the attending, Nurse Clinician, or PFT Tech. You are expected to perform and calculate your own office spirogram, as well as one on a patient as situations allow.
Ask questions re: physical diagnosis and procedures as they apply to pulmonary medicine and start discussions re: pulmonary diagnoses as questions arise. If you cannot attend clinic for any reason, please notify the office at 982-3654, Terrie Frost or page Jackie Brown, RN at 972-8203 or the Peds Specialty Clinic at 924-1643.
