Pediatric Neurology

Children with neurological disorders often need treatment that is different than what adults need. Our pediatric neurologists give that special care to infants and children under the age of 18.We offer comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and outpatient management of neurologic disorders, which include:

  • Epilepsy
  • Neuromuscular Disease
  • Metabolic Genetic Disorders
  • Headaches
  • Developmental Delays
  • Behavior and Learning Problems
  • Movement Disorders including Spasticity
  • A range of other neurologic illnesses

Best of Both Worlds

Our young patients get the best of both worlds. Our pediatric neurologists coordinate their care, but they also receive treatment from within our disease-specific programs and centers that are complete with multidisciplinary expertise. This way a child with epilepsy, for instance, will be attended by a pediatric neurologist, but receive treatment within our F.E. Dreifuss Comprehensive Epilepsy Program.

Our physicians also work closely with physicians and staff of other UVa services and centers dedicated to children. These include:
