In addition to the aquatics and horticulture programs, our Therapeutic Recreation areas also include a large gym with a wide variety of sports and leisure activities. A playground and picnic tables are located in a courtyard near the inpatient unit.
Patient rooms on the inpatient unit are often decorated with family pictures, favorite toys from home, cards and banners.
The inpatient unit includes a family lounge for conversation, playing games or relaxing. A computer with internet access, coffee maker, and microwave oven are provided for parent use.
The Hospital Education Program at KCRC has four large classrooms to accommodate children of different ages and abilities.
The19-bed inpatient unit includes a toy filled playroom complete with rocking chairs, VHS tape player, videos, and computer games.
KCRC's cafeteria offers a variety of meals for our patients and families. Several food choice options are available at each meal as well as salad bar, sandwiches and grill items. Food preferences and special dietary needs are accommodated. Families and visitors are encouraged to join patients for meals. Food may be purchased at very reasonable prices.
