The Pediatric Infectious Disease Division cares for patients with primary infectious diseases such as those with bacteremia, pneumonia, meningitis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, infections in travelers or adopted children. They also provide consultative care for patients who have underlying illnesses such as prematurity, cancer, AIDS, surgery, trauma, pulmonary, cardiac or renal disease.
Patients are seen in the Pediatric Clinic or the Subspecialty or Surgical Clinics as well as by physician to physician referral in the Pediatric Infectious Disease Clinic. This division is also responsible for physician to physician phone consultations from throughout the state and nationally. |
