The Division of Endocrinology provides consultation and on-going care for children with disturbances of hormonal function including Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, hypoglycemia, growth failure, thyroid dysfunction, adrenal steroid abnormalities, sexual precocity and delay, and calcium homeostasis.

In addition, the division provides follow-up and treatment of children with pituitary hormone deficiencies resulting form neurological or neurosurgical pathology. Children are seen by referral only. Comprehensive multidisciplinary care is provided to children with Type 1 diabetes at both the University clinics and in field clinics in Roanoke, Lynchburg, Winchester and Fredericksburg.

Diabetes Clinics are held on Thursdays from 8 AM to 4:30 PM and are located at Kluge Children’s Rehabilitation Center.
Appointments by referral to 924-9144.

Endocrine Clinics are held on Tuesday & Wednesdays from 8 AM till Noon and every 2nd  and 4th Friday from 12:30-4PM. The clinics are held at the Primary Care Center.
