TEACHING MEDICAL STUDENTS AND ALLIED HEALTH PERSONNEL
Residents in pathology participate in the teaching of second year medical students, during their curricular systems pathology course. This involves laboratory instruction including a series of case studies in Anatomic Pathology during the fall, and of Clinical Laboratory case discussions in the spring. Residents on Clinical Pathology also assist in the Continuing Education Programs for Medical Technologists and other allied health professions, and supervise and teach fourth year medical student clerks who rotate through Pathology on electives. Finally, residents and fellows in our department serve as tutors in pathology for remedial second year medical students, on a volunteer basis.
