Laboratory Interests:  Malignant brain tumor (Glioblastoma multiforme) invasive growth

Research Projects:
1.  Role of Protein Kinase C isozymes in Glioblastoma Proliferation and Apoptosis

2.  Expression and Regulation of LRP Alter Invasive Phenotype of Astrocytomas

3.  Transcriptional Regulation of Hox Genes in Neoplastic and Non-neoplastic Astrocytes

4.  Genome-wide Profiling of invasive and non-invasive pituitary tumors

What you will learn on this rotation:
1.  State-of-the-art techniques (western and northern blotting, RT-PCR, Gene expression profiling) in cell and molecular biology

2.  Recent advances and unique challenges in basic and translational brain tumor research

3.  Students will interact with Neuro-Oncologists, Neuropathologists and Neurosurgeons to learn how to diagnose brain tumors and the therapeutic options available for the management of astrocytic tumors
