UVa HEATline
The UVA HEATline, a combined website and telephone service, provides timely assessments of weather condition during the summer months in the central Virginia area. Information on heat related illnesses and tips on preventing them are provided.
This initiative was recognized by the Virginia Department of Health for innovation. To publicize this program, pocket-sized HEATline cards are distributed at the UVA pediatric clinics, local sporting goods stores and sports leagues.
