National Volunteer Week

April 20 - 24, 2009

This year, National Volunteer week was a huge success thanks to the dedication of employees of the University of Virginia Medical Center! We had over 327 employees volunteer their time during the week of April 20-24, 2009- that is twice as many as last year! During the week, volunteers:

  • Assembled 150 First Aid Kits for Camp Holiday Trails

  • Donated over 1,200 pounds of food for the Charlottesville Community

  • Assembled 200 Smoker Comfort Kits for the Health System patients and visitors

  • Donated over 100 pounds of school supplies for the Community Relations, Outreach and Service Office's After School Programs

  • Created 100 flower arrangements for patients

Hundreds of employees voted in our 2nd Annual Volunteer Photo Contest. This year's winner was Fonda Cassidy!!

Thanks again to all Medical Center Employees for your hard work and for making National Volunteer Week a success! We look forward to partnering with you all next year!
