Remote Area Medical Clinic at Grundy, Virginia
UVA Health System volunteers partner with the RAM organization for a second clinic in Grundy, Virginia in the fall. A much smaller event, this clinic is held at the Riverview Elementary School. A small group of clinicians and volunteers transform classrooms in the school into patient examination rooms.
At this two-day clinic, Grundy patients can receive many of the same services as at the larger clinic in Wise, such as pharmacy, dental, and optometry. At the 2008 clinic, UVA Health System clinicians treated over 150 patients during a two day period.
