Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) & Voice Clinic
This service provides offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment services for adults with a wide variety of communication and swallowing disorders. Diagnostic testing services include auditory assessment of the disordered voice, visual assessment of the larynx, rigid and flexible endoscopic examination of the larynx, stroboscopic assessment and recording of the vibratory patterns of the vocal folds, aerodynamic measures of the phonatory functions of the larynx, and acoustic measurements of the voice signal. State of the art equipment is used by our team of speech language pathologists to tailor voice therapy plans for each patient according to their own abilities and limitations.
Services provided:
Speech Retraining Evaluation and therapy for patient who have lost communication skills as a result of neurologic disease, ventilator dependence, cancer, or trauma. Evaluation and treatment of oral-motor dysfunction to improve clarity and precision of speech.
Voice Therapy Evaluation and treatment of patients with organic and functional vocal cord and laryngeal disorders. Training for the use of artifical larynges and voice prostheses for laryngectomized patients.
Head & Neck Cancer Therapy Extensive programs for head and neck cancer patients, including preoperatice education and counseling and postoperative speech, voice and swallowing treatments. |
