Sports Medicine The Division of Sports Medicine provides medical and surgical treatment for a variety of recreational, collegiate and professional sports injuries and disorders. The Division has considerable experience with the diagnosis and non-surgical and surgical interventions for injury and disorders of the shoulder, elbow, hand, knee, and ankle. Other services include pre-participation screening for athletic teams to identify strength, stability, and flexibility deficit identification. The Division's physicians provide medical coverage for area high schools along with both the University of Virginia and James Madison University sports events.
