Conference Schedule

 

Monday:  Fracture Conference.  Fracture-specific conference with a lecture given by a resident.  In addition fracture cases are presented by residents and they are discussed among all the faculty and residents.  6:30am-7:30am-Moss Auditorium-UVA Hospital

Tuesday:  Core Curriculum Conference.  Faculty and residents present a service-specific topic.  6:30am-7:30am-Fontaine

Wednesday:  Grand Rounds (Given by a visiting speaker), Morbidity and Mortality, and Tumor Conference. (Varies weekly).  7:00am-9:00am-Fontaine

Thursday:  Service-Specific Conference. Each service assigns reading that will be discussed among each team.  6:30am-Location TBD

Friday:  Basic Science/Anatomy.  Residents and faculty present topics and perform cadaveric dissections on various topics. 6:30am-7:30am-Jordan Hall

Journal Club:  Held monthly at an attending's home. All residents are expected to be fully conversant with the current issue of JBJS, regardless of subjects chosen for discussion. All residents are responsible for studying the monthly list of articles. The attending physician responsible for the Journal Club will choose the articles and the journals to be discussed. It is not intended to limit discussion to a single journal or to current topics. Other relevant literature or specific classical articles may be included.
