International Patient Information:
Your surgeon will arrange a quote for the entire hospital stay which will include all of the physician services. Once you have the quote, the Medical Center financial staff will assist you with the method of payment.
The nearest international airport is (IAD) Dulles International Airport (Washington, D.C.). Once there, take a regional flight (i.e., United Airlines) from Dulles to (CHO) Charlottesville (20-30 minute flight). Should you decide to rent a car, the drive to Charlottesville is approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours from Dulles.
Courtyard by Marriott UVA Medical Center and Red Roof Inns on Main Street are adjacent to the Medical Center. These hotels would be a very convenient place to stay and in walking distance (2 blocks) to the University Hospital. The Charlottesville airport has ground transportation available to and from these hotels. The hotels are approximately 15-20 minutes from the Charlottesville airport. UVA does not have an affiliation with these hotels, nor does it endorse them.
Should these hotels not have a vacancy, Best Western Cavalier Inn and the Boars Head Inn are two other possibilities. These two hotels are affiliated with the University of Virginia even though they are not in convenient walking distance to and from the University Hospital. However, these facilities and other area hotels do offer courtesy shuttle service to help with your transportation needs to and from the UVA Medical Center.
