Fees, Billing and InsuranceWe strive to provide high-quality, economical health care. Since each individual's health care needs are different, it is difficult to estimate the amount of your total bill before your appointment. Fees are based on services provided by your physician, plus the cost of any tests and evaluations that may be required. Every effort is made to keep your costs as low as possible while providing you with the highest quality care. Throughout your treatment, you have the right to know what the recommended services will cost. The orthopaedic Patient Services Manager can assist you in obtaining this information. After each outpatient visit, you will receive a bill for physician services from HSF. If your surgeon asked other HSF clinicians to assist in providing for your care, these charges will appear on the same bill. If you have questions about your bill, contact an HSF Patient Representative at (434) 295-1000. You may also receive a bill from UVa Medical Center's Patient Financial Services if you have X-rays, laboratory tests or other hospital services. If you have questions about this bill, please contact Patient Financial Services at (434) 924-5376. Both HSF and Patient Financial Services will send your bills for covered services directly to your insurance company. Please be sure to provide us with proper insurance information and let us know if any information has changed since your last visit. It is important to note that it is your responsibility to see that all bills are paid and that any required authorization or certification is completed before your appointment to assure that the charges associated with your visit will be covered by your insurance. |
