Continuous Passive Motion Machine

The Continuous Passive Motion Machine (CPM) will be used to gently bend (flex) and straighten (extend) your knee. Using this machine after surgery will help to decrease stiffness and increase range of motion in your new knee.

The CPM will be started when your surgeon feels it would be safe. The machine will be used on your new knee at least 4 hours during the day and all night. You will continue this program when you go home. The staff on 6 East will make arrangements for the CPM to be delivered to your home after discharge.
