Computer Support

The Department has serveral computers with a variety of perpherals for resident use. These computers are loaded with a variety of software that include MS Office, Netscape, and various medical online search engines. In addition to the available software, the residents have access to a number of AAOS CD-ROM educational materials. One of the computers will allow residents to perform patient order entry for their assigned inpatients.

These computers are housed at the Department's faculty offices at 400 Ray C. Hunt Drive. Reference books for the various software applications are available from the Resident Coordinator on request. According to Section 117 of the Copyright Act, copying of computer software is prohibited except for the purpose of making an archival copy. Blank diskettes or CDROMs to store data will be supplied by the Department; these disketes or CDROMs must be requested from the Resident Coordinator.
