Orthopaedic Library

The Department provides the latest orthopaedically-related medical books for the residents' library located at 400 Ray C. Hunt Drive. A chief resident may arrange a book purchase, subject to Dr. Chhabra's or Dr. Hurwitz' approval, by having the Mindy Franke complete a purchase requisition or limited purchase order that can be used through one of the local bookstores. THIS PROCEDURE MUST BE FOLLOWED PRIOR TO THE PURCHASE OF THE BOOKS. The department routinely purchases appropriate subscriptions to orthopaedically-related journals and publications. It is the responsibility of all residents to see that the individual issues are not lost; otherwise, the department will be unable to have the issues bound for permanent reference.

Residents on lab rotation are responsible for maintenance of the Charles J. Frankel Library and of all audio-visual equipment. This includes arranging for repair of any audio-visual equipment by personally contacting Clinical Engineering, and delivering the equipment for repair if necessary.

Personal Subscriptions and Books

The Department does not provide personal subscriptions or books to residents. The department will provide Campbell's Operative Orthopaedics to each incoming first-year resident. If the resident already has Campbell's, the department will purchase Rockwood & Green.
